Year Jump

As I'm sitting here in Starbucks drinking my coffee I decided to take a look at the good ol' blog, and guess what? It has been exactly a year since I last blogged. Whoa. But I mean, lets be honest... I don't even know anyone who reads it, my life isn't that exciting. haha But none the less I thought why not write about what's happened in my life the last year and who knows, maybe more has happened than I thought. Last I wrote, Junior, Sampson and Kierynn has just graduated high school, my Kaohelauli'i family was visiting us for the summer and Mallory left on her mission. So lets see where we are now and how we got here...

August 2015: Jaida and I had our birthdays, I turned 23 and Jaida turned 11. I'm pretty sure August was the month I went with Savannah to see Tori Kelly in concert. (which was amazing by the way, no matter what month it happened). School started back up towards the end of August as well. Over the summer I helped with the Provo High Beginners Skills Volleyball Camp like I do every year and Jaida, Pa'ia and Nani all participated and it was so much fun! Sometime around this month as well we found out that our Hawaiian Aiiga was going to move here permanently! *can I get a holla!*

Volleyball Camp at Provo High with these 3

September 2015: The most exciting thing that happened during this month was that I went to the Salt Lake Comic Con with Mckenzie, Jordan and Shaun. I feel the need to mention that I WON a ticket of admission by the way. I got 1st place in a caption contest on Instagram, crazy. While there I got my picture taken with Mr Captain America aka Chris Evans (thanks to Kenzie) and also got my photo with Dean O'Gorman who plays Fili from The Hobbit movies. Can you say best day ever?

October 2015- January 2016: A lot of holidays during this time period, Halloween (my favorite holiday)  was so much fun, I was a leopard (along with every other girl in the Provo/Orem area). Dads birthday was in November, and also Thanksgiving, yumm. Christmas obviously. New Years Eve and New Years Day... boy was that a night to remember. During this time I also had a little fling with a guy... nothing special, just a fun time. I also finished my 2nd semester in the Elementary Education program during this time as well, and started my 3rd semester beginning of January.

End of Semester 2 with the best cohort

February 2016: Towards the beginning/middle of February I started dating a boy (not the same one as the fling previously mentioned). February was a lot of fun and full of memories.

March 2016: My brother left for his mission! Where to you ask? North Lima Peru! Don't even worry because dropping him off was.... well, it was hell. By the grace of God we got there 2 hours before his flight was supposed to leave and during about the 1st hour of getting everything worked out his flight got changed TWICE!! And he ended up leaving about an hour before the original flight. So we literally had about 5 min to say bye to him. That was crazy! He has now been out for 2 months and 3 days and is doing really well! My cousin Sampson also left on his mission for Texas! He's doing good as well, and I love getting his emails every week!

At the airport taking our 5 min to say goodbye

April 2016: Well, that relationship ended (the one that started in February). It was great while it lasted but didn't work out, it is/was a rough time... still is sometimes. But on the bright side I finished my 3rd semester in the program at the end of April, which means we all only have ONE semester left! Hallelujah! It is student teaching/internshipping (is that a word?) this fall and I am so excited!

This is the best cohort out there! 3 down 1 to go!

May 2016: Had a few more cousins graduate from high school, go fam! I went to Idaho with my friends and we stayed at the family house in Swan Valley which was a total blast! Can I tell you that a little get away was so much needed! I seriously was going to explode if I couldn't get out of Utah for at least a day!

And now we are into June, June 1st to be exact and I'm so excited for summer and what it's going to bring. Cheers to anyone who reads this and here's to the next time I post, which who knows when that will be.

Crazy Week

This last week was C-R-A-Z-Y!

Monday was memorial day so from my previous post you know what happened that day!

Wednesday, Mallory went into the MTC. It was difficult! She will be serving in New Jersey for the next 18 months!

Thursday: Kierynn Graduated from Lehi High School! Go Kierynn!

Friday: Sampson Graduated from Orem High School! Go Sampson!
and
my brother Cornelius (Junior) Graduated from Mountain View High School! Go Junior!
here he is with a bunch of leis... notice there is a ton on his arms, and I had to wear some too because there was too many.

Here's me being a great older sister and making sure he looks sharp! haha

So yes, we had the best surprise ever, 1 leaving missionary and 3 graduations in 2 days!
THEN
we threw a Grad Party for Kierynn and Junior on Saturday!

These are the only pictures that I got from the party on Saturday cause I was too busy being the best MC and keeping everybody entertained. haha

Yeah... this week was full of happy tears, sad tears, cheers and laughter!
Way to go
Class of 2015
and
Good Luck Mallory!

BEST SURPRISE EVER!

Monday was Memorial Day it was also Mallory's last family get together before she left for her mission! *tear* So naturally we had a huge family get together. Well one of my aunty's suggested that we take just some informal family pics that day with Mallory since it would be the last with her for 18 months.

So sure!
Lets take those pictures!
Well little did we know....

*p.s. we thought we where taking pictures pictures, that's why all the posing is taking place haha*

I think you can tell from all of the reactions that this was the BEST day ever! And it's been the best/craziest/hardest week (that's for another post).
We are SO happy that they are here!

BRING ON SUMMER 2015!

First Semester: Check!

For those of you who either know me or have talked to me recently know that it has been a LONG time coming! Like a serious LOOOONG time. I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in 4th grade, my mind has never changed. I have been going to school non-stop since I graduated high school in 2010, ya you do the math. I have to admit that I made some dumb mistakes and didn't do my best and that's why it has taken me so long.
BUT...
I am finally in the Elementary Education program at UVU. This was my first semester in the program and let me tell you... it was not easy. The program puts it's students into a cohort, so you are with the same people every day; same classes, same schedule, all doing the same thing. For the entire time you are in the program. My cohort seriously is the best! It's amazing to have great people to fall back on and just to help each other out. We are first semesters of the program and BAM! We have 17 credits, class Monday-Thursday 8am-12! Boy was it difficult, but so worth it! I finally feel like I can see the tiny light at the end of a very long tunnel.
lets just hope I can continue.
*fingers crossed*

FanXperience

At the end of January I went to the Salt Lake Comic Con FanXperience. This was seriously the BEST.DAY.EVER! I can't even begin to tell how much fun it was. I took a lot of pictures, but here's just a select few that are my favorites and the stories along with them.

I clearly was not excited at all for this day.
I don't watch Dr. Who, but common when the Tardis is there.. you take a picture.
 Me and Skyler!!!!
 Lena Headey and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau
(Game of Thrones, Lannister Twins Panel)
Jamie Lannister/The King Slayer aka. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau.
I was fan girling way too hard during this picture.
He told me my name was pretty and I almost passed out.
After we took this picture I may have skipped out of the room and people where laughing at me.
I don't even care.
Paul Welsey and Pheobe Tonkin Panel
Yes, this is a picture of myself and Paul freaking Wesley!
His eyes are gorgeous and he smelled so good.

Babies

I would like in introduce the newest member to our Saluone family...
 Little Marlin.
He is so precious! He is the 2nd baby of my Uncle J and Aunty Karen.  Isn't he just the cutest little thing you have ever seen! I mean look at that nose. The famous Saluone ball nose. He is just over a week old, and I cannot get enough of him.
Welcome to the world and to our crazy family baby Marlin and congrats J and Karen!

SPLURGE

So I'm sitting here looking through my phone at pictures from summer, since it's almost Fall. Which I am totally excited for because I mean it's boots and sweater season duh. Also because that means it's almost Halloween
 (which is my favorite holiday)
and I can start watching Hocus Pocus. .  .
but lets be honest, I watch it year round.
Anyway, here are some of my favorite memories/"just because" pictures that where captured over the summer. Some I may have already posted but a lot has happened since my last post of Idaho. So if there's doubles and or poor cell phone quality, just deal with it. (;

Jaida and I had birthdays in August, mine on the 10th and her's the 11th. We are 12 years and 1 day apart, literally by 5 min. We went to see Wicked, which was amazing. We also took sissy pictures on that day as well (:

My brother is a senior at Mountain View High school and went to Homecoming, now this isn't his first dance he's gone too but HE'S.A.SENIOR! Where did these last 4 years go??
p.s. Isn't he a handsome fella.

Miss Mrs Morgan got married which was such a beautiful ceremony and reception.
So happy for her and her mannnnn!

TJ got his mission call. . . San Jose California.
He is the FIRST grandchild/cousin/child on my Saluone side to be going on a mission
(I am the oldest... mission, me? nah, he's 3rd oldest, the 2nd oldest is getting her papers ready)
So excited for him!

Horray for new baby cousins.
Introducing lil miss Emma Grace Gray. Cutest name ever right? Besides Sheliah.
Welcome to the family baby girl!

I'm really missing our Kaohelauli'i aiga. I love when they come and visit and stay for the whole summer, but knowing they have to go back is such a bummer. I miss each of them but this summer was by far the best summer I have had in a LONG time! I can't wait to see you guys in 2 years.

School is in session, I feel like it should be the end of the semester already. My class load isn't too bad, I do wish I was done with school already though. But I guess that's what you get when you don't take math at all your first year of college.
my advice.
Take concurrent enrollment in high school, or just finish math asap when you get to college.

Welp.
Missing my family & summer but I am ready to 'fall' into Autumn.
                                                                                                                                                                  pun intended.
